News & Publications

The Productivity Commission released its Study Report into Human Services today. Among other things the Commission has recommended that social housing be subject to increased competition. This is likely to be a game changer for affordable housing in Australia.

Affordable housing providers would be wise to prepare now by being clear about their goals, their market niche, cost structure and the skills of their staff and board.

In 2017, ak advisory was engaged by Renewal SA to review the South Australian Housing Trust's Disability Housing Program.  The review recommended a number of changes to the program to optimise the use of the housing assets to provide greater benefit for people living with a significant disability, especially in the light of new NDIS funding. ak advisory's final report was submitted to Renewal SA in late November 2017 following extensive consultation. A copy of the discussion paper is available here.
